THE COMPARATION OF THE FREUD’S THEORY (PSYCHOANALYSIS) TO THE ESSAYS AND FILM

Nature gives us life and a source of life for living. Natural for some people to give what we want, livelihood, peace and tranquility. Nature is everything and for them life is to serve and care for nature because that is what they live in the world. Maybe that's a statement that represent three works that I want to analysis in this essay. Three works are: two essays, entitled "An Expert to Nature" by Ralph Waldo Emerson, and "Walden: Where I Lived, and What I Lived for" by Henry David Thoreau and the last is about the movie That was ever discussed in midterm test before the which titled "Into The Wild". Analysis was done of the first film menganalisys using the psychoanalysis of Lacan's theory point of view. In this essay I want to analyze and apply the theory of Psychoanalysis is still on, but through the eyes of Sigmund Freud. Discussion psychoanalysis be an interesting discussion I think when we analyze these three works. Actually, in addition the analyzed using Psychoanalysis, we can also use romantism the other theories to analyze this. Sigmund Freud in his theory clearly different from the theory propounded by Lacan. Lacan is more focused on the analysis of the existing text and do not transport it has to do with the psychology of the author. While Freud clearly contrary, Freud's assume that a work must be analyze and see the correlation between the work of the life / psychology author, especially if it's true or not related. Before the third that analyze further work, here I want to expose at least theories about psychoanalysis. Psychoanalytic criticism is a form of literary criticism which uses some of the techniques of psychoanalysis in the interpretation of literature. Psychoanalysis itself is a form of therapy which aims to cure mental disorders 'by investigating the interaction of conscious and unconscious elements in the mind' (as the Concise Oxford Dictionary puts it).(Barry : 2002 : 69). The quote above explains that psychoanalysis is an analyze or therapy related to conscious and unconscious elements of one in particular here is related to the author. This is in line with Freud's theory that tries to apply a text (literary works) seen from its correlation with the life of the author that I have mentioned before. It was a triumph for the interpretative art of psychoanalysis when it succeeded in demonstrating that certain common mental acts of normal people, for which no one had hitherto attempted to put forward a psychological explanation, were to be regarded in the same light as the symptoms of neurotics: that is to say they had a meaning, which was unknown to the subject but which could easily be discovered by analytic means. . . . A class of material was brought to light which is calculated better than any other to stimulate a belief in the existence of unconscious mental acts even in people to whom the hypothesis of something at once mental and unconscious seems strange and even absurd.(berger: 2004:78) Freud has two consep the first on the relationship with the author's literary works are written, and both the concept of ID, ego and super ego. I would first author analyze on the relationship with the work done. As we know that all three of these works have in common that both are removed from the theme, plot, and endings that are served. If we see the paper by examining its association with the author I can conclude: first for the essay "An Expert of Nature" by Emerson, there obviously is a personal experience essay itself. Why I can conclude that, because if we analyze second essay is on "Walden: Where I Lived, and What I Lived for" by Thoreau, it is an essay that reflection of Emerson’s experience. So obviously Emerson had ever traveled down the natural way he wrote the essays, despite the odds, there is little that happens there. In Emerson's essay reveals that the figures contained in the essay later died in the wild. Obviously it is not a reality because the essay was written or published in the years around 1820-1866, while Emerson died in 1882. In the second essay is an essay Thoreau in my opinion there is no association works written by the author. Because of the content of the essay as a reflection of other people's experience is the experience of Emerson. In addition, a written essay is a fantasy of the author, about the nature of nature. In these fantasies he did traveler bleak conducted by Emerson. Along the wild and leave real life. But slightly different from Emerson, Thoreau did not write the essays that the character died in the essay nature. I understand why because after he made the trip, then he returned to the original life and enduere his live and usually also continue next chapter chapter-which is still contained in the essays entitled Walden. The third analysis is the movie called "Into the Wild". Not much different from the essay above, the story is presented that is similar to both. This film is a documentary of one's actual experience. It also tells the story of someone who was willing to leave his normal life after a dream is to go to Alaska and try to live there. A little review about the story on film. Chris's adventure began when he felt the saturation about a broken home family life. Finally he decided to seek peace and new life for him. Life without the frills and the material away from the public. He has a dream to get to Alaska and want to settle there, this is he doing prove to world if he can live alone without help from others and with nature just as well for nature. Chris figures in this story a long journey filled with struggles and down the river, desert and forest as well as to achieve his dream itself. Same with Emerson essay written, the characters in the story even this eventually died after he proved that he could achieve his dream located in Alaska and can stay there. With the struggle and hard work to achieve that dream, he finally get to Alaska and settled there. But the fate of the other said, because in the end he could not return to pass unrecognized and return to his family. Although he had tried to get back to nature but still took him back to his residence in the woods. He felt a happiness that he never got in a previous life. As with the second essay stating that nature is giving us any wishes and Chris did feel it was natural itself. Chris thought that is everything and that could provide everything we want. He can survive only by eating there anything provided by natural surroundings. But a misfortune happens when ignorance that ended up dragging it to death. He ate poisonous plants that we misread the instructions in the book is a guide to navigate the journey in the forest. If Thoreau was reflection of Emerson’s experience, so Chris was inspired by the books he read. But when death picks up Chris, he's still smiling without the slightest remorse. Though indeed he felt the point of saturation when he was there without a friend who can share stories with him. But that way of life that has been selected by Chris until he finally died in the nature he loved. When we include the previous theory is the analysis in the second essay was, according to this movie only has a relationship with the manufacturer itself. Why story I can say that, due to return to the previous paragraph that states that this film is a true story of a person. This can be seen when the film ends, there should be an explanation that the film is indeed a true story. This shows that indeed there is a correlation between psychology works written by the author because it was a real experience of the author. Analysis of the subsequent analysis of the three concepts the ID, Ego and Super Ego contained in the three works tersebut.ID is our subconscious that they have such passion and desire or hope. Ego is conscious that there is in a person. While the super-ego is aware of human nature related to the collective consciousness or it could be said as a filter or pressure for us to do that appears in the ID. Even superficially, the superego is reducible to neither ego nor id; it is in effect a way of formalising certain ideas which had initially been worked out in ‘On Narcissism’ (1915) and Group Psychology and the Analysis of the Ego (1921), and of suggesting that the very nature of their functioning warrants describing them as a separate psychical agency. (Thwaites: 2007:36) According to Freud, the ego is an aspect of the subject that emerges from the id -- the biological, inherited, unconscious source of sexual drives, instincts, and irrational impulses. The ego develops out of the id's interaction with the external world. It is produced from the non-biological (social and familial) forces brought to bear on one's biological development and functions as an intermediary between the demands of the id and the external world. Thus, the ego can be thought of as a variable aspect of the subject constructed as a system of beliefs that organize one's dealings with the internal and external demands of life according to certain laws. It reconciles the biological, instinctual demands of the id with the socially determined constraints of the super-ego (internalized rules placing limits on the subject's satisfactions and pleasures) and the demands of reality. Now get to work with a third analysis using the pattern ID, Ego and super ego. Analysis of the first is the ID. As I've mentioned before about the ID, which means that Id is acting as the unconscious in which there is lust, desire and hope somebody. Of the three works that Id be in a position when the character have aspirations to live in the wild. In the essay Emerson, ID is in when he wanted in his life according to his desire is peace. And the peace that he could get in the wild. Further analysis continues at Thoreau.ID written essays in this essay happened when he imaginary want to buy a house and farm complete with livestock in the forest. His desire is to live there in search of tranquility and settle at soul he did not get in real life. Boredom of fantasy background for government to be able to live far from civilization, and he could prove if he is able to live alone. Still in line with the previous work, the ID in this film also is the same as both. ID here occurs when Chris have aspirations to go to Alaska and settled there. He was saturated with his family. He wants to try to find peace with nature and serve to live there. In addition, he wants to prove that indeed he was able to live alone without help from others and there was only him and nature there. The second analysis is the Super ego. Super ego here is the obstacles that hinder the three characters have to be able to achieve your goals and expectations. In the essay Emerson, super ego happens that hurdle when he was down all obstacles such as forests, rivers to be able to get his composure in the wild. In an essay written by Thoreau, super ego that occurs when feelings of loneliness approach him. Did he feel the comfort and peace when he was in the wild, but he could not avoid the feeling of loneliness of the people. In addition, real life can waste him to return to the conscious mind and the imagination of his journey along nature must finally end. Then the super-ego is in the movie "Into the Wild" is indeed a lot of which hinder the achievement of its goals toward Alaska. In addition to the obstacles that occur in nature, also longging to his family told him to return to normal life. Alaska to the rugged terrain was sometimes made him want to give up, but his persistence enabled him to survive and achieve anything she wants. A recent analysis of the "Ego" which was also previously described the outcome or action of what is on the Id. As we know that the ID that is the third work that is striking in the wild life and the freedom to get peace there. The third work of the reach of each Ego. Emerson achieved ego that he can get his hopes that can feel the serenity in the outdoors and feel a freedom that it is indeed so he had hoped. He said that the real life. Thoreau also that ultimately could have plantage, livestock shelter that he had hoped. In addition he can reap the rewards of all his hard work; he can also achieve peace of mind and freedom. Still remain in line with both ego in this film that is finally able to reach Alaska and Chrish could settle there as well although it can survive in the not so long that finally he had died of negligence at the time. That was the analysis of psychoanalysis-analysis contained in the third work of the premises to use Freud's theory. so conclution according to the theory of Freud, but we can analyze existing plot in the story (text) we also have to analyze how the relationship between the works written by authors who wrote the work. First it does indeed have something to do with the author or not. References Barry , Peter. 2002. Beginning theory: An Introduction to Literary and Cultural Theory : Second Edition. Berger. 2004.
